Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Folio for Figma app (“Folio”) and the Folio website. By installing or using Folio you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Folio.

What Folio is

Folio is a free, independent iPad app that displays Figma’s web editor inside Apple’s WebKit browser engine and adds native tabs, windows, input adaptations, a bottom toolbar and downloads. Folio does not reimplement, modify or redistribute Figma’s software. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Figma, Inc.; see the legal notice.

Licence

Source release planned. Folio’s source code uses the Apache License, Version 2.0 (apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0). That licence governs your use of the code. The Folio name and app icon are not covered by it; see the legal notice. Builds distributed through the App Store are also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement where it applies.

Figma’s terms apply

Using Figma through Folio is using Figma. Figma’s Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and privacy policy apply, and you must have a Figma account in good standing. Folio does not grant any right to Figma’s service, content or software and does not change what your Figma plan allows. If Figma changes its website or terms, Folio may stop working in part or in full.

Your responsibilities

• Account: you sign in on Figma’s own pages. Keep your credentials safe; Folio never handles them.
• Content: you are responsible for the designs, images, files and other content you create, open, export or download, and for having the rights to use them.
• Fonts: fonts you import into Folio stay on your device. Make sure your font licences allow that use.
• Lawful use: do not use Folio to circumvent Figma’s restrictions, access accounts or files you are not authorised to access, scrape or extract data, or break any law.
• Device: Folio is pre-1.0 software that runs a large web application on an iPad. Keep your work saved; Figma saves to Figma’s servers, not to Folio.

No warranty

Folio is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Folio’s developer does not warrant that Folio will work with any particular version of Figma’s website, iPadOS or hardware, or that it will remain available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Folio’s developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, designs, profits or business, arising from the use of or inability to use Folio, even if advised of the possibility. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Folio, which is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent or gross negligence where applicable.

Changes to Folio and to these terms

Folio may change, pause or stop at any time without notice. These terms may be updated; the date at the top shows the current version and material changes are recorded in the project’s changelog. Continued use after a change means acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are subject to the courts there, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
